WHEN YARI SHOOTS<\/strong><\/h2>\n

A solo exhibition by Y A R I <\/strong><\/p>\n

From her passion for traveling and interacting with her vicinities, Yari found the desire to capture interesting moments, assuming that these moments will one day become a long story that shows how life is extraordinary. By the end of the 80s, she started her photography hobby, or, to be more accurately explained, documenting her travels. In 2017, she began her career in professional photography.<\/span><\/p>\n

Henry Cartier Bresson and Herb Ritts had been her inspirations as a photographer in the creative process. They have their characteristics in photography, be it in candid style or fashion themes. Learning from both of them, she combines the style and theme to create her signature ones.<\/span><\/p>\n

Helped by her other occupation as a yoga instructor, Yari’s works are close to human daily activities and the objects around them. She wants to capture the beautiful sides of humans and their surroundings.<\/span><\/p>\n

“The monochromatic nuances are presented as a symbol of eternity, unlike colors that shade over time,” said Yari. Compared to other colors, monochrome can accentuate the character she desired to show. Laughter, gestures, and landscapes have their character, and, without long explanations, monochrome can directly voice the objects in a photo itself.<\/span><\/p>\n

Yari understands the process of capturing moments, both in spontaneous and conceptual ways. Her tendency to pay attention down to the smallest detail when something attracts her, in any context, especially in the creative process of work, makes her works well-presented.<\/span><\/p>\n

Her other professional life as a Yoga instructor somehow enriches her visual references as a photographer and helps shape her style, as we can see in the work entitled “Yogini” with a high key technique where the brighter light dominates the photo and make the background invisible, making the audience immediately focused to the point she wants to highlight. Then, there is another work entitled “Chaturanga” that blends interior architecture with a person practicing yoga.<\/span><\/p>\n

Photography is not all about technicality, photographers have the freedom to freeze a moment that they find interesting, subjectively. They can present photos of their characters. These non-standard techniques are the cherries on top of the creative process.<\/span><\/p>\n

With those explained hereinabove, Yari invites the public to appreciate the works in a photography exhibition entitled \u201cWhen Yari Shoots\u201d that is organized by Rachel Gallery from 17 July to 30 August 2022.<\/span><\/p>\n
